John Terpstra is a poet, writer and cabinetmaker
who has made, for the world-at-large,
seven books of poetry (e.g. Disarmament,
& Two or Three Guitars; Selected Poems),
three non-fiction (e.g. Falling into Place,
The Boys, or Waiting for the Electrician's Daughter,
& Skin Boat; Acts of Faith and Other Navigations),
and a CD (Nod Me In, Shake Me Out, with Bart Nameth, piano),
and for his customers/patrons has crafted
a fireplace mantel, in cherry (personal favourite),
a garden arbour & swing
inspired by the movie Much Ado About Nothing, in cedar,
and a small coffin for a friend's father's remains,
using wood salvaged from the family's home renovations.
