The St. Thomas Poetry Series has its origin in the poetry readings held annually since 1988 at St. Thomas's Church on Huron Street in Toronto. Most of the poets in this series have participated in these readings, and all share a perspective on human life that emphasizes its metaphysical and philosophical dimensions. Like other collections in the series, this collection of seven poems witnesses to the religious meaning of experience. Contains the poems, “Present Perfect,” “Devil’s Punch Bowl,” “Atonement,” “To God, as a Small Pest,” “The Old World,” “Small Voices,” and “The Sheep Reports.”
